Husband and wife Meier are very poor. Again they had a vistist from the bailiff. But other than a table, chairs and a bed they have nothing left .Shortly after the bailiff leaves, someone else knocks on their door. This time it is a notary who tells them that they have made an inheritance. They have inherited a complete bedroom. Valentin takes off to get the bedroom furniture. In the mean time his wife has the old bedroom furniture chopped up for firewood.
