Valentin is a member of an orchestra in a variety show. He is in bad shape that day and sounds terrible. During a break he fights with the conductor about a silly theft at the post office. When the break is finally over, the curtain is stuck and won’t go up. They call the upholsterer to repair the curtain. Before he arrives the curtain goes up half way. The vocalist, who’s turn it is, comes out promptly and sings. Valentin accompanies her on the violin. While she is singing, the upholsterer arrives. Chaos strikes and in the middle of it all is Valentin, contributing to it…
